I really need need to fix this issue with my iPod.
I'm trying to get it to respond.

This may work but unfortunately i do not want to jailbreak my ipod
But here's the thing: It won't respond to anything on my computer. I've tried iTunes and none of it responded to my iPod. And is fixing my iPod's power button the only thing I can do?

Likely yes. The button could be stuck in the down postion preventing iTunes from seeing the iPod.
However, your iPod could have another hardware problem
By the way redsn0w was the app that bricked my iPod. And sooner or later I'll go to the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store to fix my power button. Or is the device too "outdated" for them or something?
My iPod is finally turned on! It was in DFU when I plugged it in to my computer. I think it's because I used Windows XP and I just installed Windows today. Was the fix to plug it into a computer that never used my iPod? Because that's what I did.
URGENT! iPod wont respond to anything!
